What affects the price

  • Size and number of panels. Wider openings need more glass, more aluminium and more panels.
  • Type of window or door. Opening windows cost more than fixed panes, and folding doors cost more than sliding doors of the same width.
  • Glass. Safety glass is required in doors and some windows. Laminated, toughened, tinted and double glazed units all cost more than standard glass.
  • Frame colour and finish. Standard colours are usually cheaper than special colours.
  • Locks and hardware. Multi-point locks and heavier handles add to the price.
  • Removing the old frames. Taking out steel or timber frames and making good the plaster takes extra time.
  • Building work. Making an opening wider, or adding a lintel, is extra.
  • Access. Upper-floor windows and difficult sites can take longer to install.

Repairs and glass replacement

Repairs are priced after we have seen the problem, because the cost depends on which parts are worn and whether replacement parts are available for your system. Quotations are free. A call-out fee of R200 applies only if you do not accept the quote.

Getting an exact price

The quickest way to an exact price is a free quotation. Tell us what you want to fit or replace, the suburb, and any sizes you know. Photos of the openings help. We then measure on site and give you a written quotation.

If you are deciding between two options, such as a sliding door or a folding door on the same opening, ask us to price both so you can compare like for like.

Price questions

Why are the price ranges so wide?

Two windows or doors of the same type can differ a lot in size, glass, colour and hardware, and the published guides cover the whole country. Your own price depends on your openings.

Is installation only cheaper?

If you already have the windows or doors, you only pay for the installation. Tell us what the units are and their sizes, and we will quote for fitting them.

Does the price include removing my old windows or doors?

Our quotation says what is included. If old frames need to come out, removal and making good are part of the quote.

Do you charge for a quotation?

Quotations are free. A call-out fee of R200 applies only if you do not accept the quote.
