What a shop front includes
A shop front is a framed wall of glass: fixed panels, an entrance door and often top lights above, all in one aluminium framing system. Inside commercial premises the same kind of framing is used for glazed partitions and office doors.
Every shop front is set out to its opening on site, so the panel layout, door position and door width are decided when we measure.
Glass and doors for commercial premises
Shop fronts reach down to floor level and the panes are large, so safety glass is a requirement under SANS 10400 Part N. The glass type and thickness depend on the size of each panel.
An entrance door gets far more use than any door at home. Door closers, locks and handles are chosen for the traffic the door will see, and the entrance has to work for everyone who comes through it.
If the premises must keep trading while the work is done, mention it when you request a quote so the installation can be planned around your opening hours.
Commercial work

We work on shops, offices and other business premises as well as homes, with the same installation teams.
Shop front questions
Can you replace an existing shop front?
Yes. Tell us about the current front and what you want to change when you request a quote, and we will look at it when we measure.
Can the frames match our branding?
The frames can be finished in any colour, so they can match a brand or building colour scheme.
Do you install glazed office partitions?
Yes. We install aluminium framed glass partitions and doors inside offices, like the ones in the photos above.
